Fun with Lego !

Hi Everyone,
Happy weekend to you all whatever you are up to.
I had a couple of commissioned cards to make for a little boy who loves his Lego so I set about making my own set of Lego bricks...

Somehow the camera has distorted the top of this card but I can assure you the bricks are straight IRL
Aren't these fun!
I cut the blocks from bright cardstock and set about punching out the circles with a small Xcut punch.
A long time later, lol, I had them all edged with matching distress marker and foam pads on the back ready to make in to the blocks. After they were fixed on to the card I highlighted the shine on the blocks with a white gel pen. It turned out quite realistic I think.
(Top Tip Tuesday Challenge Tip) :Then I had the idea of making another card which I could sell at an upcoming event without knowing the age and cut out some black numbers, mounted them on foam pads and popped them onto some leftover backing sheet of an old foam pad packet. Now this card can be suitable for either a '4', '5', '6', '7', '8' or '9' year old. The customer can easily add the correct age for the Birthday boy when the time comes.

The stamp set used on all the cards was from MFT - Die-namics By The Numbers and the number die comes with it.

Challenges
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything Goes (TopTip- set of numbers on backing)
Diva's by Design - Happy Birthday
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes

Enjoy your weekend! September starts on Monday, I can barely believe it. I had better get stuck in to making some more Christmas cards, my box is not nearly full enough yet.
See you soon,

Furry Friends

Hi Everyone,
These new digital stamps from Sugar Nellie are so cute and I couldn't resist getting a few. They have a competition over on the blog and this is my entry...there's a great prize so fingers crossed.

This little cutie is called 'Highflyer' and is so sweet. I coloured him with my Promarkers and stamped a sentiment in the banner from a Scrapberry set. The papers were oddments that I had in my scraps box and the sentiment inside the Stampin' Up oval punch was from LOTV.
I followed a sketch for this card so would like to enter it in the Papertake Weekly challenge also.

Challenges
Sugar Nellie - Kit and Clowder Competition

Papertake Weekly - Sketchie Free For All (sketch # 26)

Creative Moments - Anything Goes
My Mum's Craft Shop - Clean & Simple

Thanks for visiting today, see you soon,

Relaxing in the Man Cave

Hi Everyone,
Yay ! The sun has come out today here and it feels much better, hope you are enjoying some sunshine where you are.
This is another card I made for my Nephew, the image comes from Karen's Doodles and is called Man Cave.

recipe
6 x 6 card blank
Man Cave image - Karen's Doodles
Promarkers
Sentiments - LOTV & The Paper Studio
Go Kreate large Oval dies
Hand cut banners
Cuttlebug Embossing folder for background
Enamel dots

This image was so much fun to colour and I enjoyed creating the stone wall look in the cave. Here's a close up of the image...

The background was created by embossing the green cardstock with the cuttlebug folder and then applying Versamark clear embossing ink over the raised squares so they could be heat embossed with clear embossing powder - I thought this looked like animal skin.

Challenges
I love Promarkers - #234 Make Your Own Background
Diva's By Design - Happy Birthday
Sister Act - #71 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #46 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Thanks for joining me today and for your lovely comments over the past few days, it's great to get feedback and encouragement from you :)

See you soon,

F1 Card

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had an enjoyable Bank Holiday Weekend (UK). Yesterday the weather was awful so any plans for outside events were a washout - such a shame. I spent the day in my craft room, although production was very slow, maybe today will be better. Here is a card I made for my Nephews' birthday a couple of days ago...

He is a real fan of F1 racing so I found a picture and 3d it up, although that's hard to see here. Hope I got the right car and driver that he follows, I'm afraid it's all gobbledygook to me, lol. Anyhow the 'Happy Birthday was cut using my Tonic sentiment die, then embossed with clear embossing powder and the banners are by Verve.

Take care everyone!

Christmas Card Club #18 - Cardinal / Christmas Bird

Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well with you.
It's that time again where our friendly little group post our Christmas card makes and the theme this time was set by Mary - Cardinal / Christmas Bird.
Now I didn't have a cardinal bird die so you will have to use your imagination and believe that they are really cardinals :) . I so wanted to make a card like this since I saw an example on Pinterest by Kittie of KittieKraft. I have used the tree die cuts that I bought from Ebay, my own MB Stag die, SB Birds on a wire die and Lea'bilities pine branch and holly leaf die. The background was stamped in various green inks with a Stampin' Up 'Lovely as a tree' stamp and I used lots of Star Dust Stickles.

I'd like to enter in to the following challenges
Papertake Weekly - To Die For
Deep Ocean Challenge - Christmas in August
Creative Moments - #49 Anything Goes/Animals
Winter Wonderland - August Anything Goes for Xmas
Sister Act - #71 Anything Goes
CHNC Extra - August challenge
Completely Christmas - #26 Anything Goes
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #43 Anything Goes

Check out the links to the rest of the CCC ladies in my page tab and see what gorgeous projects they have been making, although you might have to wait until Sunday for their post as I am early showing mine :)  I have my DT post tomorrow for 613 Avenue Create so join me then and see what I have been up to.

Bye for now,

Keeping Busy?

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all well and busy crafting. I've been visiting your blogs as and when I can over the last few days and there have been some beautiful projects to fire up the creative juices.
I have been creating myself but I can't show most of them just yet, some are DT cards and some are for Birthdays that haven't happened yet so I can't spoil the surprise for the recipients. I can however share these two little lovelies....

Both of these are made from a Papermania Decoupage pack
On the first one I added some die cuts to the design -
Marianne Designs Creatables LR0279 & LR0280
MFT Rolled flower die
Joy Crafts flower die
I cut these die cuts and the flowers from the peach coloured packaging and inked through the die (the corners) to give it dimension. This backing card was the perfect match and if you look closely you can see the little butterfly design from the pack.
The second card just has the die cut shapes from the pack although I did make the rosette.
Aren't these images so girly? Handbags and dresses, what more could a girl ask for? :0)
Challenges

613 Avenue Create DT Post - #84 Sights/Sounds/Tastes of Summer

Hi Everyone,

** If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club project please scroll down to the previous post **

This is my first DT post for 613 Avenue Create and I was so very honoured and excited to be asked by Kathi to join the lovely ladies on the Design Team.
Our challenge theme this time is 'Sights/Sounds/Tastes of Summer' and our fabulous sponsors are:

I went with an image from QKR Stampede and decided it would suit a stepper card.

I also tried something new for me - 3d paper piecing. I have been watching Mariska and Debby on their blogs doing this and although I new it was a tricky technique I was not prepared for the intricateness and time it took me to complete it, lol. I did enjoy doing it but, hats off to you two ladies, this technique is hard. The most tricky part I found was deciding which piece to layer on top of another and which piece needed a grey anchor part - go and check out Mariska's blog she has a photo on each project showing the little pieces before they are put together and you will see what I am talking about.

A side view to show the stepper element and a glimpse of the inside.
Recipe
Image - QKR Stampede
Promarkers
Papers - Nitwit Papers (various)
Grass - Dies, Magnolia Doohickey, Cheery Lynn, Clearly Besotted
Clouds - Clearly Besotted Die

  Challenges
Crafty Catz - #243 Lazy Days of Summer
Sister Act - #69 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #45 Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Anything But A Square
Eureka Stamps - #101 Add A Button ( button brad)

Passion For Promarkers - #259 Button It (button brad)
Deep Ocean Challenge - #83 Summer Colours
I Love Promarkers - #231 Fancy Folds

Christmas Card Club Challenge #17 - Anything But A Card

Hi Everyone,

I'm sharing my CCC project a day early from now on so as not to clash with another DT post that I have tomorrow.
This time it was Lizzie's turn to choose a theme and I'm so glad she picked 'Anything but a card' because I have been wanting to make an exploding gift box for a very long time and this challenge gave me both the reason and the incentive to make time to create one. Now I'm going to warn you this post is VERY photo heavy, the box just wouldn't fit in my camera lens and show all the detail so I had to take separate pictures for each side of the box. So here goes...   ...I have tried to collage some of the pictures to save space...

The box base was cut from 12 x 12 thick, white cardstock, then layered up with Neenah Desert Storm and a patterned paper freebie from 'Papercrafter' magazine.

All the edges of the paper have been inked with DI 'Brushed Corduroy' and heat embossed with holographic EP.

The top decoration is made from two Memory Box Snowflake die cuts, Wild Orchid Craft roses dipped in iridescent glitter and a wooden snowflake ornament - also inked and embossed. The tag was cut using a Spellbinders die for the top shape, inked and embossed just the same and the stamps used were Crafters Companion 'Happy Holidays' and Hot off the Press 'Enchanted Christmas'. I coloured in the letters with my Promarkers.
Now for the inside...

Each face of the box has a Memory Box 'Catalina Wreath' die, cut twice, inked and embossed and then a centre element - Britannia Dies 'Christmas Flight', MB 'Snowflake Ornament', Marianne D. 'Fir Tree LR0136', and Quickutz 'Jingle Bell'. I added lots of pale blue gems too.

On the bottom of the gift box I made an envelope to house the 'gift'!

Well I hope you liked my Exploding Gift Box, I really enjoyed creating it and I'm sure that it won't be my last. The other members of the CCC all have great inspirational projects to share too so pop over to their blogs tomorrow and have a look  (links on the CCC page of my blog).
Challenges I'd like to enter:
Scribble & Scrap - #24 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - Anything Goes For Christmas
CHNC Christmas Extra - August challenge
CHNC Patterned paper challenge - August challenge
Completely Christmas - #24 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #45 Anything Goes
Suzy bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #41 Anything Goes

Well that's enough from me today I think, that was a long one, *phew*
Hope to see you again tomorrow for my first ever DT post for 613 Avenue Create.

Pinterest Inspired...

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are still enjoying some good weather, with the school holidays well under way all children want to do is be outside and enjoy the sunshine. I am usually more creative if the weather is bright and fine but occasionally Mr Mojo goes on a short break and leaves me blank, then I find Pinerest to be a valuable resource for inspiration and ideas. So the next two cards are a version of what I found there the other day.

I scattered my MFT number dies over the cardstock and ran it through my Cutting machine, cut a ' Happy Birthday' using my Britannia Dies, placed a small piece of patterned paper behind the numbers I wanted to highlight, randomly dotted some gem stones around and raised the panel on foam pads. Quite quick and easy really the only fiddly bit was putting foam pads on the small inner parts of the '4', '6' and '8'.

Challenges
Scribble & Scrap - #24 Anything Goes
My Mum's Craft Shop - #20 Clean & Simple
Bearly Mine Challenge - August Anything Goes

I should really make a huge batch of these in various ages to keep in my box as I often get asked for a specific aged card. A project for another day perhaps?
Thanks for visiting and see you tomorrow.

Look Who's Turning 6 !

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all having a great week.
This is a card I made a few weeks ago for my Great Nephew, I've already shared one of his cards with you a while back, I thought I would go with bold and bright for this one...

I got the idea for the layout and design from Pinterest.

Twine and pearls

Challenges:

I'm busy working on my project for our Christmas Card Club this Sunday, however from now on I will have to post it on Saturdays here as my first DT project for 613 Avenue Create is also due each fortnight on a Sunday. I don't want to post twice in one day so I'm sure the ladies in the CCC won't mind if I share on a Saturday instead.
Hope to see you all before Saturday but if not, have a good week!

Stamping Bella - Sunny Is Stylish

Hi Crafters,
Hope you're enjoying your weekend.
Now sunglasses at the ready coz it's a bright one...

I've seen a few beautiful creations on the internet lately using orange and pink together so I thought I'd have a go at it. I decided to use Uptown Girl - 'Sunny is Stylish' as the image and sentiment lends itself to using bright colours I think. I found the gorgeous sun paper on my computer, it's in the Alphabet soup collection from Just So Scrappy and the pink paisley patterned papers were off-cuts in my box so I don't know where they are from, sorry.
She was a dream to colour with my Promarkers and I stamped her twice and layered up her jacket, case and sunglasses. There are lots of examples of her on the Web and I used these to help me colour the folds in her skirt.
My card base is a centre step card and I've kept the details to a minimum, making her the focus, just adding a bow in orange grosgrain ribbon and a bright pink ribbon flower.
Here's a side view to show the stepper card...

Challenges:
Deep Ocean Challenge - #83 Summer Colours
I Love Promarkers - #230 Ribbons
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Sister Act - #68 Anything Goes
Penny Black And More - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenge - Anything Goes

Well that's it from me today, thank you for visiting and for your lovely comments on previous posts. I try to get around to you all but sometimes it just isn't possible - the family need feeding now and again, lol.
See you soon,

The image is printed from the CD and then I have Glossy Accented the dress and sprinkled glitter over it. The papers are a free download called 'Comforts of Home' from a fantastic blog Summertime Designs. I have also used the Sketch from Creative Moments challenge so I would like to enter it in their challenge.

It's short and sweet today I'm afraid folks I have to hot-foot it off to the doctors now, so see you soon,
