Hunkydory Nautical Card

Hi Crafters,
Phew I'm glad this past week is done and dusted, I have been so busy making cards and gifts I think I can do them in my sleep. My craft fair went very well at the school where they were fundraising for the Macmillan Cancer Charity and a tidy sum was raised thanks to everyone who attended.
I am also very excited to be able to announce that I will be having a monthly stall at the Thorpe Farmers Market which is held on the last Friday of every month at the Church Hall on Thunder Lane, Norwich.  I will be there on the 31st of October selling my handmade cards and gifts and then every month thereafter. So it's going to be a busy time ahead!.
Anyhow, back to today's card, which was one I made for my stall last week and it sold very quickly.
Recipe
Hunkydory - It's A Man's World Collection
Twine
Bronze Sail Boat Charm

This is the first time I had used Hunkydory cardstock and now I know why everyone raves about it, it's luscious. I won this male themed card kit in a competition. It had plenty of background card and toppers to make lots of cards and I will be showing some of the other cards I made with it another time.

613 Avenue Create Challenge #90

Hi Crafters,

***If you are looking for my Christmas Card Club entry please scroll down to the previous post, thanks.***
Two weeks have rolled by again and I am here with my DT inspiration for the challenge at 613 Avenue Create.
I chose to create a picture in a frame.

 Recipe
5" x 7" Picture Frame
Image - Cupcakes & Candy Factory - Inky Impresssions
Promarkers
Sentiment Stamp - LOTV
Go Kreate large Oval Die
Embellishments from the grid

I printed this lovely image three times then cut out and paper pieced it for dimension after colouring with my Promarkers. I added glossy accents to the cherry and sweets and glitter to the swirling smoke from the chimney. I decided to die cut the image with a large Go Kreate Oval die and use the solid colour paper as the background in the frame. Although this is a 3d project it will fit in the frame with the glass to keep it clean but for photo taking purposes I have left the glass out.
Here's a full frontal...

...and a side view to show the layers...

Our challenge this time was to use this grid for the elements of our project .

I have circled the elements that I used, I'm sure this will give you all some ideas so you can play along with us.
Our crafty sponsors are -

Challenges:

Christmas Card Club Challenge #20 - Winter Wonderland

Hi Everyone,
Yay! It's Saturday, hope you all have a great weekend.
I'm sharing my card a day early for the CCC so as not to post twice in one day.
This time it was Christine's turn to choose a theme and she came up with a great one - 'Winter Wonderland.'
Now I have been watching Noreen from Flower Soft doing her stuff on Create and Craft recently and maybe a tiny little purchase took place :) so I had the Snow Globes CD-Rom to play with and this is what I made...

Side view of the lovely globe/ shaker card.

Recipe
Snow Globe CD-Rom
Music Ribbon
Stampin' Up Decorative Label Punch
Flower Soft

Simples ! ... it was so easy and fun to make. The longest part was cutting out the layers of the decoupage but other than that, very straight forward. I think I will be making some more of these they are very effective and you even get a template for the matching printed box for the cards to fit in.

Challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - 'S' is for Something Festive
CHNC Christmas Extra - September Challenge
Sister Act - #75 Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - #49 Anything Goes

Please visit the other ladies in the CCC, their links are in the tab at the top of my blog but don't forget I'm a day early so they probably won't have their post until tomorrow. You will also find there the countdown for how many days there are left to the big DAY - scary, lol.
See you all soon,

Lorraine

Decorated Trinket Box

Hi Crafters,
Hope you are all well. It's very misty and murky here today, hope it brightens up soon.
Between making cards I have been trying my hand at decorating a wooden trinket box. With a couple of craft fairs coming up soon I decided to create a variety of projects for my stall, some of which I will share with you in the future.

I got my hot glue gun out of hibernation and used my stash of lace, trims and flowers to create a pretty box for your bedroom dressing table.
Here's the inside...
After painting the bare wood I sprayed it with two shades of Perfect Pearls Pearlescent Shimmer, but unfortunately what looks like blotches on the inside in this picture is actually how the camera has picked up where the shimmer is :(  -even the white pearls have a creamy/peach tone here too :/ very frustrating, but in real life it is very pretty.
I lined the inside with matching paper to take away the plainness.
Hope you like my little box and I would like to enter it in to these challenges,

Scribble & Scrap - # 27 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Another Great Guy Card

Hi Crafters,
I was asked to make a birthday card showing a man on a ride-on mower as this was his dream to own one, so here is my offering...

I had a digital image from Karen's Doodles on my computer and I merged it with a garden picture in 'My Craft Studio', then set about colouring it with my Promarkers. The Happy Birthday is a Stampin' Up stamp which I mounted on top of two banners.

See you soon,

Buttons and Bows

Hi Crafters,
I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the lovely people who have left such encouraging comments on my last two posts, it is always nice to get positive feedback on our creations. After spending hours in my craft room wrestling with what papers to put with what embellishments and which colours to choose for an image, it is all worth while when a fellow crafter praises our efforts, so thank you again.
So, on to the business of todays card....

Recipe
Image - Pre-coloured Topper from Hobby House
'When I Grow Up' by Mo Manning
Papers - Molly Bloom
Buttons and ribbon from stash
Sentiment - LOTV
Corner Bow Die - Memory Box
Faux Stitches Stamp

These pre-coloured toppers from Hobby House are a godsend when it comes to making a quick card, it's just a pity that I picked THE most complicated card fold and swing element to mat and layer that any time saved colouring was spent making the base. However I love it now that it's made. Here is a picture hopefully showing the folds....

Challenges
In The Pink - Buttons and Bows
Fussy and Fancy - #122 More Than One Fold
The Ribbon Girl - Add Ribbons

Well that's all from me tonight, it's quite late so I'm off to bed.

See you soon,
Lorraine

Elegant and Majestic...

Hi Everyone,
... those are the names of two of the dies I used on this card - Majestic Labels 25 and Elegant Labels 4, together with Cheery Lynn's Fanciful Flourish and an MFT rolled rose die. I haven't made rolled roses in such a long time, I had forgotten how relaxing it is to make your own flowers, whether rolled or otherwise. It also allows you to match your flowers to your project by choosing your papers to compliment. I also used my Print Magic embossing powder in Midnight Blue by Debbie Moore for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the result. It has been hiding away in my drawer and been overlooked for too long. It has a wonderful sparkle to it, you can just see it in this photo I think.

Challenges:
Scribble & Scrap - #26 Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #44 Anything Goes
My Mum's Craft Shop - #21 Dies & Punches

Thank you for all your Birthday wishes for my Mum yesterday, she had a lovely day.

Happy Crafting!
