613 Avenue Create Challenge #126 Anything Goes/Use Subway Art

Hi Crafters,

There's a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create and as usual you can choose 'anything goes' or the twist theme of 'use subway art'. I'm using the 'Pretty Sunshine' image from our sponsor SLS Lines Digital Stamps and I chose to go with the subway art theme and make a wall hanging...

The image was coloured with my Pro/flexmarkers and layered on to a pennant banner that I made picking out the colours from the subway art. I embossed the pink layer with a sunburst embossing folder but that doesn't seem to be showing up very well here. :/

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Not Just Cards - #20 ATG
I Love Promarkers - #271 Anything But Square
Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge - #82 ATG/Make it Bright & Colourful

My subway art was found on the internet but you could try making your own with stamps or making a collage with word cuttings from a magazine perhaps.
I look forward to seeing what ideas you come up with.

 Have a wonderful Sunday.

Lorraine

P.S. On a different subject now - there is a DT Call going on at Top Tip Tuesday so if you would like to join our friendly bunch of ladies hop over to the blog, there are instructions there on how to apply.
Bye for now,

Passion For Promarkers Challenge #297 No Sentiment

Hi Crafters,
Welcome to another challenge at Passion For Promarkers but this time both DT teams are taking part as it is a Special 6th Anniversary Challenge with multiple sponsors, so take a look at the blog for all the details. All you have to do to enter the challenge is create a project using your Letraset markers and follow the 'No Sentiment' theme, easy right?
Here is my offering...

Recipe
Image - Stamping Bella Uptown Girl 'Bianca Loves her Big Cake'
Medium - Pro/flexmarkers
Papers - 'Fun Fair' Helz Cuppleditch
Magnolia Doohickey Dies - Lace semi circle, frond and swirl
Flowers - Flora Doodles by Petaloo
Fine Glitter
Glitter Embossing Powder

I just love this stamp, don't you? Bianca looks so cool celebrating her birthday with this ginormous cake. If only we could have a figure like hers and still eat cake hey girls!? Well I coloured her using my Letraset markers and added some fine glitter around the edges of the cake icing. I then edged all the papers and my image panel with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink and then Versamark ink to hold the glitter embossing powder. This tied in with the gorgeous papers as these have encapsulated glitter on them too. I added a selection of Petaloo flowers that matched the papers along with the Doohickey die-cuts.

Christening / Memory Album

Hi Crafters,
*As a heads up this post is very photo heavy.*

A few weeks ago it was my great nephews' Christening and as a gift I made a Memory Album for the parents to record the day.

I made the album myself, I'm not sure what the technique is called but I joined the pages together using strips of folded and gusseted card to form a spine that would allow some embellishments on the pages.

The finished album measured 18 x 14 x 6 cm and had room for five standard photo's.

Here is the front and back cover, the papers I used throughout were Echo Park - A Bundle of Joy - New Edition

Each page has a photo mat and a place for recording the details of the day together with a verse...

You can also see here the strips joining the pages together, I punched them with an EK Success Scalloped border punch...

Some of the embellishments were cut on my Cameo and others were dies..

The photo mats were cut and the corners were punched using another EK Success punch which makes this pretty swirly corner to tuck your photo's under...

I hope you liked my little album I really enjoyed creating it.

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Not Just Cards - #19 ATG
Creative Fingers - #80 ATG

No great plans here for the weekend, just the normal housework, crafting and family time but I do hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to.

See you soon,

Lorraine

Megan is 3 !

Hi Crafters,

Thank you for visiting today - it's lovely to see you here.
Cute little Maisie from Lili of the Valley is the focal piece on my card for today but I think she is now discontinued as I can't find her in the shop :(
She was the perfect image needed for this commissioned card order and the colours requested were purple and lime green so the LOTV Bonnets and Bowties paper pad were perfect too.

See you later

Christmas Card Club Challenge #10 - Village Scene

Hi Crafters,

Hope all of you are well.
I am here today because it is yet another challenge at our friendly Christmas Card Club - those two weeks have certainly flown by.
Our Rita has chosen the theme this time and a lovely one at that... Village Scene.
I decide to go with my all time favourite Christmas stamp from Stampendous - Snowy Postcard - as it has this beautiful snow covered house scene. I also decided to do something a little out of my comfort zone too. I have been admiring some mixed media projects on a couple of blogs that I follow and wanted to dip my toe in the water and have a go at a few of the techniques. On my card you will notice that I have had a go at using crackle medium, inking, distressing and generally grunging everything up. I have a long way to go to match the talents of Pamellia and Kathy but I enjoyed trying.

Recipe
Card base cut with Go Kreate Die
Snowy Postcard Stamp - Stampendous
Distress Inks - Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick
White Acrylic Paint
Crackle Medium
Stampendous Shabby White Frantage
Marianne Tree Die
Lea'bilities Holly Leaf Die
Berries - The Ribbon Girl
Seam Binding
Vintage Lace
MME Brad and Sentiment Banner
Metal Bell

A couple of close-ups of the crackled tree and crinkled seam binding...

Challenges I'd like to enter:
Winter Wonderland - Oh Christmas Tree
Brown Sugar - #145 Layers
One Crazy Stamper - ATG
Country View Challenge - Simply Scenic
Crafty Time - #1 Anything New (Crackle Medium)
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Vintage
CHNC Extra - May Challenge
CHNC Every Saturday - #228 Vintage or Shabby Chic
Frilly And Funkie - Snap, Crackle, Crackle

Now that I have attempted to do a bit of 'messy' crafting I think, when time allows, that I will create another project soon using my long neglected glimmer mists and sprays and finish up that pot of texture paste and stencils that have been languishing in the box on the shelf. I bought these items with the idea to use them straight away but found them rather daunting to know exactly what to so with them. We shall see how I get on.

Please pop along and have a look at the fabulous Christmas makes from the other members of the club by clicking the links in the tab at the top of my blog.
Well that's it from me today, hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Bye for now,

Lorraine

Sharing an 'Oldie' on Friday

Hi Crafters,
It's Friday once again and I am joining in with Erika of Snappy Crafts with her fun 'sharing an old crafty project'.

This is a real 'oldie', one that I made for a customer who wanted specific requirements on the card for her sister. I managed to find a picture of a garden scene and used my Joanna Sheen wheel barrow and flower pots dies. The image was printed several times and elements were cut out and layered for dimension. I then punched out my flowers and shaped them, tucking them in behind the raised wheel barrow and pots.
If you would like to join in with Erika's fun theme just post your oldie on your blog, give Erika a visit and comment on her post and she will come and visit you.

Thanks for dropping by today,
See you soon,

Lorraine
